Overview
Master's Fury is a 2D fighting game developed by Unico and released by Game Tech for arcades in 1996.
The successor to their other arcade fighting game Dragon Master, Master's Fury features a new cast of characters and, like the predecessor, is known for its abundance of sprites that are blatantly drawn over sprites of other companies' games (including the Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, World Heroes, and Samurai Shodown series).
The game was later ported to the Sony PlayStation on November 20, 1997, released by Cinema Supply exclusively in Japan, as The Masters Fighter. Along with modified gameplay and graphics engines and a new soundtrack, this version is known for its very low sprite quality (either due to poor compression or poor scaling).
Characters
The game includes 12 playable characters. The PS1 version uses different names for most characters.
- Kang Pung / Takuya
- Tony Rung / Long Way
- Kang Tae Kwon / Kang Te Kung
- Jane Isabelli / Mishell
- Tung Ga / Gamp
- Kill Ruki / Kain
- Sakamoto
- Pearl Jack / Bill
- Abdul Jaba / Azarl
- Sya Ki / J
- Mr. Daeth / Mr. Death (sub-boss, unlocked from the start in the PS1 version)
- Sakato / T660 (final boss, unlockable in the PS1 version)
